Drawing inspiration from the relentless tenacity of those who pioneered the sport of rock climbing

The shapes reference some of the climbing holds found at my local bouldering wall.

This collection celebrates the courage to start, the mental capacity to try again and the determination to see your goal and go for it.

The solid silver Klatre earrings measure 8cm from top to bottom.

The ear wires have been hand made from 0.8mm sterling silver wire.

All orders come gift wrapped at no extra cost.

I’d watched 2 films about the first climbers to summit El Capitan in Yosemite National Park, USA. So when Beth pinned a post about courage on our collaboration board, I knew I wanted to make a range that referenced the drive and determination of those climbers. The pieces are very angular and bold. I discovered it was possible to make shapes out of Fimo and have them cast in silver so I bought myself some modelling clay and got sculpting. I did a lot of sanding on the shapes but wanted to leave the working marks of the sand paper on the pieces rather than polish them to a high shine. I felt like this was an important part of the reference.

The range can celebrate determination or it could remind you how determined you are. Either way, we ALL have it in us. When we really want something, we are unstoppable.
